Caliente Daegu

Caliente is without a doubt the most happening place in Daegu. The atmosphere wraps around you the moment you enter this fantastic find. They have somewhat authentic Mexican food but for Korea and it especially Daegu it is one of the best Mexican places in Korea. Forget Ho Lee Chow or going to Seoul to eat at Dos Tacos or Tomatillo, this place has them beat.
Chimichangas are crispy and very delicious but the addition of a bean sauce instead of sour cream could possibly throw Koreans and/or foreigners away from it. Burritos are without a doubt the best thing on the menu.Burritos are seasoned perfectly and the tortillas are crisp and savory. Another good thing to try are the chips and salsa. They are a bit pricey for an appetizer and there aren't a lot of them but the flavor of the salsa, cheese and the hot chips are really worth it.

Their drinks are probably one of their best attractions. They have a lot of drinks that are not easy to find in Korea, let alone Daegu and they are quite well made with the exception that they lack the strength of their western counterparts.  I highly recommend the Mojito or Mojito pitcher, it is very well mix and has a taste that will make you want more and more.

Caliente's atmosphere is really quite spectacular, not something easy to find in Korea. Darts and pool where if you can beat a certain worker at the games you could win a free drink or menu item. If you go before 10pm you could have the chance to pick the music you want to hear. After 10pm on the weekends there is a DJ that plays only the coolest mixes you will find around town.

Caliente is an excellent time, the only problem is the 10% VAT that will have you breaking your bank after a few drinks and a couple burritos, but for the service, atmosphere, and food it is for sure worth it.

Caliente ***** out of *****
